Fire + Earth: Andrew Eastwood

Next up in the Fire + Earth series is Leg of Mutton’s own Andrew Eastwood. Andrew’s most recent work involves the technical challenges of combining paper-thin porcelain blades with grainy, waney-edge wood, evoking aerial views of frozen landscapes.

Our last hurrah of the year: h.Art 2016

Herefordshire Art Week always seems so far away, then hurtles towards us with blinding speed. This year’s iteration takes place from 10–18 September, and we’re pleased to be taking part once again. It’s a vital annual event for the region’s artists, and with 23 artists showing at 8 venues, Kington is staking a strong claim for the second consecutive year. So do come on over to see us, and make a day of it! We’re featuring my and Andrew Eastwood’s work, in all its glorious diversity (though almost always based in ceramics).

Leg of Mutton (venue LM in the h.Art guide) will be open daily from 11 AM to 5 PM each day during h.Art. In addition, Andrew and I are  exhibiting at St. Michael and All Angels in Kingsland (venue SM) – a group show that will feature work by 23 artists, all under one glorious Grade I listed roof.

Opening Saturday!

Our 2015 Leg of Muttoners have returned for a final hurrah. Andrew and I are busy hanging, adjusting, dusting and polishing. Here’s a taste of what awaits you (and there is so much more!). Framed and unframed works are available, and most items are £95 or less. We have a selection of artist’s cards as well.

In the blink of an eye…

…h-Art has rushed past!  We can’t believe that tomorrow is the last day. We’ve been so busy meeting and greeting — and selling from time to time! — that there’s hardly been a minute to spare. It’s been a terrific experience, exciting and inspiring.

Stop by and see us between 11 AM and 5 PM tomorrow, Sunday the 20th, for the final hurrah of h-Art. There’s still plenty of work to see here, including Andrew Eastwood’s gorgeous Spiral, below.

Ciara Lewis’ work on show through 12 July

If you haven’t stopped by yet to see Ciara Lewis’ work yet, please ring us to do so before 12 July. The more you look, the more you see in her atmospheric paintings. She’s a maestra at expressing vast vistas in a very small space. Come and allow yourself to be tempted!

Andrew and I are also exhibiting our take on ‘works from walks’, featuring my field finds and Andrew’s observations of nature translated into porcelain.

New gallery space

Kington, Herefordshire, is to have a new art gallery at 17 Duke Street. It will be run by Shannon Donovan and Andrew Eastwood and is called Leg of Mutton. The gallery will be open on the third weekend of each month, from April to December. We will be exhibiting original artwork by both Shannon and Andrew, together with work by a different invited artist each month. We will also be exhibiting elsewhere for Shropshire Hills Art Week, an exhibition inspired by Iceland , the Church Stretton Festival Open Exhibition and at Leg of Mutton for Herefordshire Art Week. Further details and images of work will be posted soon.
