‘Silver Linings’ opens 20 August

Our next exhibition features work by two fine artist/makers who share a deep sense of line and structure and who are true masters of their chosen materials. Jeweller Debby Marsh draws inspiration for her silver brooches, pendants and earrings from both the layout of Italianate gardens and the texture of the plant life therein. Perhaps best known as a silversmith, Wally Gilbert explores the language of decoration in his powerful drawings, prints and sculpture, a selection of which will be on view. Wally’s work demonstrates his conviction that decoration and ornament are not ‘extras’, but instead are integral to both cultural expression and self-expression.
