Our next exhibition, Beauty Is Truth, features exquisite work by two Herefordshire artists who revel in nature’s finer details. Using watercolour, gouache and pastel, Helga Powell pays homage to herbs, hedgerow plants and garden roses in her detailed paintings. Earlier this year, Helga was awarded the Jackson’s Early Entry Award for Watercolour; you can see her amazing prize-winning painting here. Carolyn Watson uses wool and other natural, often reclaimed fibres to create intricate, intimate vessels – some of which fit in the palm of the hand, yet offer a sense of refuge and containment.
