In the interim between Leg of Mutton exhibition seasons, Andrew and I finalising the participant list for an exhibition that we’re coordinating as part of Shropshire Hills Art Week. Now in its third year, SHAW gives artists based in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty an opportunity to showcase and sell their work from their own homes or studios, or at one of the many participating venues that host group exhibitions. It’s a large area that is home to an incredible diversity of talented artists/makers, and we’re thrilled to be helping bring their work to light.
The group show that we’re organising (under the working title of ‘Shropshire Boogie-Woogie’ – but don’t hold me to that!) will take place at Aardvark Books in Brampton Bryan. Aardvark’s exhibition space never ceases to amaze me: With a bit of thoughtful arranging and judicious lighting, it transforms from a rough-and-ready barn into a welcoming, unpretentious gallery that highlights the wonderful art that the region has to offer. Many thanks to Sheridan and Sarah Swinson for entrusting us with the exhibition for a third round!
Watch this space, as well as SHAW’s and Aardvark’s, for further developments.
