It’s an exciting time for me and Andrew: We’re finishing up participation in Iceland Seen and Unseen at Aardvark Books (through 12 July) and are honoured be the guest artists at the Church Stretton Arts Festival starting on 27 July. And meanwhile, exhibitions at Leg of Mutton march on. We will be sad to say goodbye to Ciara Lewis’ paintings on 12 July, but we’re delighted to be welcoming intriguing new work by Helena Orlowski starting on 17 July. Over 17 weeks in 2014, Helena made five trips to Poland. In Kazimierz, the pre-war Jewish district of Krakow, she discovered a neighbourhood in the process of reinventing itself – honouring the past while celebrating the present. Helena’s new work in oil pastel, graphite and watercolour, on show for the first time at Leg of Mutton, is her initail response to the energy and spirit of the cultural renaissance taking place in Kazimierz today.
